Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Loan made to friend in amount of $1100. He has delayed payment for 5 months, wit

I made a loan to a former co-worker in the amount of $1100 with the verbal agreement that he will repay me within 30 days. He has not paid in 5 months. HE has come up with excuses each week, but acknowledges that he will pay me shortly.

I have e-mail verifying the amount, as well as e-mail from him stating that he will re-pay me shortly, from his office e-mail account.

I would like to sue for $1100 plus my lost interest as well as court costs and legal fees.

Any adive?

Thank You,

If he really intended to pay you back he would pay something each month, even $5. Go to small claims court. you can get court costs but not legal fees.
