ex did not make the payments

6 years ago we bought a air conditioner and I singed as the main borower a payment plan. a year later we were divorced, and my ex got the house were the airco is,and was ordered by the divorce court to pay the payments. Today I got a phone call from a collection agency to pay, 7480 dollar or they will take action. My ex had a stroke and , and lives with his doughter and has no income. what can i do to avoid paying there airco?

Nothing. You have to pay it. The contractor is not bound by the divorce agreement. You can pay it and then sue your ex for the money.

If the last payment was more than four years ago, the statute of limitations has expired -- if this is the case, do not agree to pay anything, and if you are sued, consult a lawyer.
