If I marry someone that has long overdue student loans can the government attach my wages or a joint bank account? What about joint income tax refunds? Thanks

Not your wages as long as you segregate them in a separate account. Joint anything can be reached.

If you keep your money with your wife's money then it is fair game. Also the tax refund if you file a joint return.
