Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

medical collection

I am being sued for non-payment of medical treatment. I have proof that I have proof of payment. The company called me back and told me it was an error on thier part, but the lawsuit was filed and is now public record.

Do I have the right to ask them to cancle the remaining debt, or Any other recourse?
