Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Mother-in-law's debt

My husband's mother passed away 5 years ago, in quite a bit of debt. Is it my husband's responsibility to repay it all?

Re: Mother-in-law's debt

It should have been taken care of by Probate or by the executor of her estate. Depending on the bill, 5 years ay also exceed the statute for collecting.

You are asking the question in the CA forum, did she reside hee? Was she living here when she passed away? Our firm specializes in trusts, estates and probate, I believe we can assist you with this matter.
