Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I owe $13000 on a credit card, it's been turned over to an attorney and I'd like to make monthly payments...what happens if they won't accept that solution?

Before you make an offer, first determine if your last payment or last statement -- whichever is later -- was more than 4 years ago. If so, the statute of limitation has run on collection. I have found that credit card collectors usually are willing to make a payment arrangement of some sort -- but almost never on the terms the consumer initially proposes.

If the issuing bank files a lawsuit against you, make sure not to ignore it. That will only make matters worse.
