Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

owe money, but no one wants it

I purchased a bed from a national chain on their no payments or interest for one year. I'm about 6 months into that deal and I want to pay off my debt to them. I received a store credit card, but never a bill. I've tried unsuccessfully several times to get a bill. I have now found some problems:

1) I purchased the bed before the company used computer invoices. Therefore they can't find a record of my purchase.

2) They no longer do business with the credit card company that they original set me up on.

3) They never charged my purchase to that card.

I was told by the credit card company to call the store that I made the original purchase to clear up the billing issue. When I talk to the store's manager he said, ''Sir, knowing this company it looks like you have yourself a free bed.'' Now I would love to take that as the official answer, but I know this would come to haunt me.

I have an invoice from the company with 0 balance owed to them and a statement from the credit card company saying I owe them nothing.

I'm sick of waisting time with this company, but I don't want this to end up as a negative on my credit report.

I think this will catch up with you eventually, and I would pay the bill.
