Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I am part of an inheritance and would like to know if a judgement on my credit report for approx. $10,000 will have to be paid before i receive any of my inheritance money? Please advise.

Probably not if it's not a government debt. But, if the judgment creditor gets wind of a bank account containing the money -- or takes a judgment debtor's examination -- you might then find your bank account levied.
