Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Past Due Auto Loan

I am currently behind in my Auto Loan. I made a $300 dollar payment through Quick Collect today 2/2/00. They told me I needed to pay $450 dollars on Friday 2/4/00 & another $640 dollars next Friday 2/11/00. If I don't give all this money by those dates they will take my truck. I want to know If I have any rights to have them work with me? I got behind do to unfortunate circumstances, and I am trying to catch up. I am more then willing to make payment arrangements, but I get paid every 2 weeks, and I can'y come up with all that money at one time. This collector threatend me and said if I didn't tell him where I worked he would come today and get my truck. Then if I didn't pay $300 in one half hour he would come and find me. Is there something I can do? I only have about $2500 dollars more to pay before the truck is paid off.

Help!

Re: Past Due Auto Loan

they are not required to work with you at all unless that duty is written into the contract. However, most will work with you if they think they will get the money.
