Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Proof of non-service

What does it mean when the plaintiff files a ''proof of non-service'' with the court in a collection case?

What happens to the case after this happens since defendant was never served?

Thank you for any replies.

Re: Proof of non-service

If you are the defendant and you know about the lawsuit, you need to have your attorney respond to the complaint right away. Don't assume that, just because you think you weren't served, that the court will agree with you.
