who can receive the summons?

can the credit card companies leave

the summons to my friends or my

friend's families even though I don't

live with them? One of my friends

got the summon from his roommate

Re: who can receive the summons?

Assume the service will be treated as valid. Consult an attorney about responding to the lawsuit within 30 days. If the lawsuit was filed by a collection agency, or the debt is more than 4 years old, you may have good defenses. If you think you have a good defense to the lawsuit, do not file a responsive pleading without consulting an attorney first.

Re: who can receive the summons?

The summons should be delivered to your last known address. However, since you received the summons anyway, I would suggest you respond to the lawsuit by filing an answer asap. You will waste time and money challenging process at this point.
