I received a settlement letter from a collection agency and they have the wrong person. What are some response options I have?

Then why did you open it? If they think it is you i.e. your name and address that owes the money call them up and tell them that and see what they say. If they persist then write to them and tell them they have the wrong person and that you dispute the debt and demand a copy of the underlying paperwork that supports their claim. Keep a copy of both letters for your records.

Hope this helps and good luck.
