Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I signed for my sister to get a premier line of credit in 2008 she is the co signer for the account

she is the only one who uses this acct i have never ued it. The problem now is that she is not making the payments. i received a call from the bank today that if it's not paid by aug 15 it will go to collections and of course she will ruin my credit. legally is there something i can do about this towards my sister?

thanks

YOU HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO PAY THE ACCOUNT. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEEK CONTRIBUTION TOWARD WHAT YOU PAID FROM YOUR SISTER.

You can sue your sister for indemnity and contribution for whatever you have to pay. This assumes, of course, that you are okay with suing your sister. The great shortcoming of the law is that if someone doesn't follow it, there's no option but to sue if you want the law applied.
