small claims court

If someone is sueing me and i do not respond to the claim and go to court, what will happen?

If this is a small claims court matter, and you do not appear, the plaintiff automatically wins, and will get a judgment against you for whatever amount the plaintiff is claiming. Once that happens, the judgment will incur additional amounts of interest at the rate of 10% per annnum until paid. Also, the plaintiff will then be able to garnish your wages, and sieze your bank accounts, among other things, to get its money.
