Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Statute of limitations on Insurance deductible

I received a notice from a third party administrator to pay an insurance deductible on a claim dating from 2001. I have not received any notice or request to pay the deductible from the carrier prior to this time. What is the statute of limitations on such a claim? The amount requested is $8000.00. The claim is closed, and the case was dismissed in 2003. The insurance policy did carry a $10,000 deductible per occurence; that is not the issue. My question is, after all this time, and with no prior request, am I required to pay this?

Re: Statute of limitations on Insurance deductible

Injury to personal property claims have a statute of limitations period of 3 years, and personal injury claims are for 2 years from discovery.
