Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Statute of limitations

What is the statute of lim. for credit card debt in California? What date does it begin from and when does it end? If the creditor has a suit filed but no judgement, does it extend their period? What if they file, receive a default judgement and the suit is vacated after initial statute period?

Re: Statute of limitations

Generally, 4 years from last charge or payment on credit card. If creditor files suit within that 4 year period it tolls [stops] the statute of limitations. If creditor obtains a default judgment, generally, can seek payment of judgment, costs and post-judgment interest for up to another 10 years-plus.
