Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

When does the Statute of Limitations start on a bad debt in California?

My daughter got a letter from an attorney for the purposes of debt collection for a credit card. She (stupidly) does not have any records. Does the statute of limitations start on the date she last made a payment or does it start later than that? Below is what the credit report lists as a payment history.....Was there a payment made after July of 2004? Thank you so much for any help.

Original account was with Washington Mutual, account history is attached to that account:

Account history:

charge off as of May 2005 to Feb 2007

150 days as of Mar 2005, Dec 2004

120 days as of Feb 2005, Nov 2004

90 days as of Jan 2005, Oct 2004

It seems that the 4 year statute of limitations may have run. We need to see a copy of the letter to see if you have a case under FDCA. Please contact us if you have any questions.
