Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I'm being sued by a credit card co. for non payment. On the summons it says I should file written response but the courthouse didn't have any. They gave me a website to print forms from but don't know which forms I need. Can someone help me?

If you want to file a standard Answer or a General Denial, you may be able to use a fill-in-the-blanks form. It sounds like the courthouse gave you links to these forms (however, I have included the links below.) Take a look at the following:

Answer-Contract (Form PLD-C-010)

http://www.courts.ca.gov/documents/pldc010.pdf

General Denial (Form PLD-050)

http://www.courts.ca.gov/documents/pld050.pdf

Without seeing the Complaint and knowing the exact nature of the charges leveled against you, it is difficult to know exactly what your answer should look like. If these forms do not fit your needs, you may need to type up your own Answer on pleading paper. I caution you that if you are going to type up your own Answer, it may be important to state both your General and Affirmative defenses, if any, to the allegations against you. This can become somewhat technical, so it may be best to stick with the forms if they suit your purpose.
