thrid party being sued

a lady purchase a billboard for advertisement for her church on her own and said it was gift to the church and she would pay for the sign. three years later the advertising company she had the contract with is trying to sue the church for the billboard becuase the lady stop paying for the sign. Is the church liable for mistake?

The church may be liable on a number of legal theories. I would encourage you to seek local legal counsel to review the contract, and the demand from the billboard company to see if a resolution can be reached.
