Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I voluntarily had my car repossed. I have received notifiaction from the lender stating that I still owe a substantial amount after it was sold at auction. They are requesting payment. What can they legally do to collect on the debt?

The creditor can sue you for the deficiency, obtain a judgment against you, then enforce the judgment by writ of execution. Once they have a judgment they can garnish your wages and attach your bank accounts, among other things.
