Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Last year my company won a judgment against a client that issued bad checks for services rendered.Since winning that judgment I have attempted to have the owner served with an order to produce statement of assets to no avail. The owner is "not in" every time the Sheriff tried to serve him. They still are located in the same building, have the same website, phone numbers etc, but have slightly modified their name when they answer the phone. What if any would be the best way to collect on this owner? The amount of money is around $3.000 so I know it is a small claims issue. Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated.
