Defending a client on a third strike case takes a complete review of all of the evidence. If a third person is responsible, that needs to be investigated.

Your friend needs a lawyer. If she can't afford to hire an attorney, the judge will appoint the Public Defender to represent her.

I agree with Mr. Marshall. With such limited information it's hard to give any advice. Your best course of action would be to consult with and/or retain an experienced attorney in the area. If your income situation is low enough the court may appoint a public defender. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

There is no advice of any value to you except 'get an attorney' to present all the defenses, evidence and and arguments possible in court motions, pre-lim and trial. If you can't afford counsel, apply to the public defender. If you can and are serious about getting private counsel, and if the case is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
