Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

access to police report

I was recently arrested for marijauna possession in my home.It was medical marijauna and I have since gotten the proper paperwork for posessing it.

I was given a ticket for possession and will go to court in 2 weeks. The hows and whys of the police's info is a long story and dont apply to my question so I wont go into it

I called for a copy of the police report and was refused. Isnt it my right to have a copy of this report? I find it outrageous that I was denied access to this information.

You should hire a lawyer to make the appearance for you. I would need to go into the specifics of how you were cited and why the police were in your home. As long as that might be, it's necessary to evaluate your defenses. Call me. Good luck. --P

Proper paperwork? You real sure? Remember, anything you say in court can be held against you as an admission of guilt. Waving some papers and telling the judge you had a right to the marijuana could result in your conviction. I suggest you do it right and hire an attorney to handle it for you.
