Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I just got arrested for PC 647 F- Drunk in Public. Is there any way to avoid having it on my record? I'm willing to hire an attorney, AA meetings, etc. I'm trying to be a teacher and can't afford to have the teaching commission find out.

Some courts have a program on minor misdemeanor alcohol and drug offenses where you can attend AA meetings and pay a court appearance fee and the city attorney will later drop the charges if you successfully complete the program. We have that program in certain cities in Los Angeles.

Your zip code indicates that you are in the San Diego area, and if I were you, I would speak to an attorney who practices regularly in San Diego, or even go in person to court, prior to your arraignment, and talk to someone at the public defender's office, if possible.
