Can i get arrested for picking up metal scrap by the railroads.

Yes, you could get in trouble. Law enforcement could charge you with theft, if the metal is owned by the railroad company or some 3rd party. You should contact an attorney as soon as possible. I wish you well....David Wallin

You can 'get arrested' for anything police contend you are doing illegally, whether they are right or not. Property on railroad or utility company right of way is the company's, not yours, and thus you could be charged with theft, trespass or other crimes. Whether you can be convicted is a different question, based upon all the facts and defenses you may, or may not, have.
