Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

If i bailed someone out on a bond can I get out of it?

I bailed out a tenant of mine a few months ago. Her behavior has been bad so I no longer wish to be responsible for her. Can I get out of the bond before her trial?

In short, usually. Have you called your bondsperson? They might facilitate the surrender at her next court date.

If there is a bail bondsman then contact the bondsman and tell them you want the bond canceled. If there is no bail bondsman then contact the district attorney and the clerk of the court. Find out when the next court date is and appear in court. When her case is called stand up and inform the court that you want to recall your bond. I would not tell her that you intend to recall the bond prior to court. She might take off leaving you holding the bag.
