Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

''bench warrant''

If someone has a bench warrant in CA, what can be done to avoid any jail time because of her failure to appear in court for a misdemeanor? Is jail time a must?

Re: ''bench warrant''

Handled well by your attorneys, jail is a possibility, but fines are possible as an alternative. That assumes she gets to court voluntarily with her attorney before getting arrested and taken into custody. However, the underlying charge will determine the more important outcome, as to jail vs other penalties. If this is in SoCal, feel free to contact me if interested in getting legal help.
