Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I bought this Macbook pro (2012) off craigslist for $600 which is a great deal. I come home and look up the serial number and realize it is a (2009) which is worth about half as much. I contacted the guy and the phone number was disconnected and the email account was deleted. Is there anything I can do? Do i even have a case? What would his punishment be?

Your best bet is probably suing him in small claims court, assuming he still lives in the same place so that you can have him served.
