In California knife laws, 2.5 inches large pocket knife is still under 3" inches?

Small pocket knife like swiss army knife is fine, right? Police will notice that I have small pocket knife with me? Will police stop me from carry small pocket knife? This is a good idea?

The length of the knife is determined by the length of the blade, not the overall length of the knife. A small pocket knife is fine, but there are places that you cannot carry one, such as on airliners, or to court.
