Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was caught shoplifting $210 worth of clothing at Macy's in California. I used a shoplifting tool that takes off the security tag off two items. This is my first criminal offense. What kind of consequences may I face? Also- I was scheduled to work in Korea in November. My court date is October 25th.... will I be able to travel abroad?
