It depends on many things. At this point, your public defender will have access to the precise charges and be best able to advise you of worst case scenarios. These charges are serious and you could face jail time, probation or parole (with various restrictions and demands), paying the victim restitution, other fines and things like Court-ordered counseling.

The Courts examine each theft case individually. The stiffest penalties are given to those criminals with a criminal history and use of weapons. In any event, the ramifications of a conviction or plea bargain are many and lasting.

Do not underestimate the importance of hiring a skilled criminal defense attorney to consider, investigate, and present every appropriate defense and advocate for you.

Don't think like that. Instead of asking what sentence you are going to get, make up your mind to fight the.charges. Ask me how I can help you beat them or at least lessen their impact on your life.

Re: How much do you think?

What I "think" is irrelevant. What you are convicted of determines the mandatory sentencing, and would be enhanced if you have any prior convictions. Talk to your attorney about the penalties of the specific charges filed against you. If you don't have an attorney, get one. Simply worrying about the max penalties is doing you no good; they are what they are. You need to be focused on defending this to get the charges reduced or pled down or taken to trial if appropriate. If this is in SoCal and you're serious about hiring counsel to do so, feel free to contact me.
