Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I have yet to be charged with any crime legally, but I was terminated from my former employer for embezzlement. the amount is between 600-700 and I already signed on my termination paperwork that i did it. I have a revocation hearing from the former employer for my gaming license, and i cannot afford an attorney. I do not know what do do? Can I avoid jail time?

It is a little late to be asking that question after you signed a confession to the crime. If the employer files criminal charges, as many do, you will need to ask the court for a Public Defender to be appointed to you. He will be able to give you advice and an opinion once he knows what all the facts and issues are.
