Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Should I go to the courthouse or what would you sugguest?

I called Mojave D.A. several times to find out about an accident I had on 3/4/06. They said they couldn't find anything. I recently had a friend check on the internet and she found I had a D.U.I., child endangerment, and not having the kids in proper restraints, and a warrant. I called Mojave D.A. and they told me to come up to their courthouse and sign some paperwork. I told them I had to wait until I could pay someone to take me up there. (2-3 hours from where I live) In the meantime I was told I shouldn't go to the courthouse and I should send a represen-tative. I have no money. I am living in a sober living house, (the Puente House, in Covina), and I am also attend-ing A.A. meetings and doing things to stay on the right track. I also, asked the children's parents to put the proper child restraints in the car and buckle them in. They assured me that they had the appropriate seats. ( I later found out they may not be the appropriate seats) What would you suggest I do?

It sounds like you are in dire need of an attorney, as you have a present case, a potential defense, and are in peril of being arrested. If you cannot afford an attorney, try to call the local public defender's office and see if they can get the warrant recalled, or offer some legal advice to you. If I can be of service, please contact my office.
