Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My daughters father-in-law was convicted of 8 counts PC 288(a) and received a 22Y prison sentence. He's now saying he'll be paroled at the end of the month after serving 7 yrs of the 22. Is that possible?

If the sentence was 22 years then the earliest release date should be 11 years. It is possible that some of the counts were sentence concurrent rather than consecutive. Your daughter should not allow any contact between the her father inlaw and her children. Allowing contact could put her at ricsk of losing her children to CPS.
