what is the law on self defense or defense of property in a criminal battery

case? are there any cases on the law? -- thanks

There are many cases on that issue. You generally cannot use deadly force to protect property. The amount of force used must be reasonable under the circumstances. In the defense of self or others reasonable force may be used, up to and including deadly force.
