Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Disclosure of another person's criminal background

Would there be legal consequences if I sent copies of police reports and other public documents pertaining to jail, trial, and related civil actions for assault, harassment, etc. to the criminal's employer, landlord, and/or neighbors? Some of the police reports took special efforts to obtain, so they are possibly not public records in the strictest sense.

Re: Disclosure of another person's criminal background

Yes, there could be severe legal consequences for taking such action. This is especially true if you obtained the information in a not so legal manner. Consult with an attorney before taking any action.
