district attorney - interrogations
Would a district attorney ever be
allowed to interrogate a murder suspect
if he wanted to? Or would it depend on
his relationship with the police
department?

The proper question is whether a murder suspect MAY be interrogated by law enforcement, of which the prosecutor is a part. The answer is yes. There are circumstances where such may occur dependent upon the suspect's decisions regarding his waiver, or not, of certain of his constitutional rights.
Whether a particular prosecutor or deputy prosecutor WOULD interrogate is dependent upon the specific parties and circumstances. But they are not blanketedly forclosed from doing such interrogations.
