Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Driving on suspended license

Recently was ticketed for driving on a suspended license for a third time. I have 3 prior DUI's. First one was back in 2001, the last 2003. I am almost done with my DUI classes and in about 2 months away from getting my restricted, along with installing an IID and SR-22. I cannot afford to go to jail consectutively, more than 48hrs increments. Probably far fetched at this time. I am trying to get my life back together from a nasty divorce. I have no record until after it occurred in 2001. What can I expect? I am working two jobs to make ends meet and to get out of debt. Any help would be extremely welcomed. Or should I just pray for a miracle and an act of god? Thank you for your time.

Re: Driving on suspended license

Praying is a worthy act. But, it should be directed at gaining strength to shore up your behavior and will power. For your immediate problem, you clearly need to hire counsel to help minimize the damage you are about to suffer. Call the local Lawyer Referral Service if you can't get references from reliable sources.

At the risk of sounding blunt, it appears that you have created a mess for yourself. Neither I nor any reputable attorney could give you an accurate answer as to what will occur next. However, I can say for sure that given your unfavorable disposition in this matter, it would be best to seek counsel, at least for the sake of damage control.

Should you hold a legitimate interest in hiring an attorney, I will be glad to help you. You can contact me at 818.943.0462.
