caught in possession of 2 ounces of mushrooms in south san francisco. first time being arrested, charged with misdemeanor whats the penalty?

Key is to have charges reduced to possession for personal use, if possible. This way it is a drug program and complete dismissal. If possession for sale, in San Francisco, you are probably looking at probation with no county jail time.
