Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My family has a civil harrasment restraining order against an individual, this individual is not allowed to come into any kind of contact with my family and is required to stay 100 yards away. He constantly calling my son names, and trying to initiate a fight with him, he is clearly not 100 yards way when doing this. I have called our local sherriff dept. and they have came out and talk to my son and this other individual and says they cannot do anything becuase it is all he say she say and he is not with in 100 yards, he 2 houses away when doing this but to the sherriffs 2 houses is 100 yards. What can I do to stop this harrasement?

There are several things you can do. None of them are guaranteed to work but they are worth trying. First take pictures of this person whenever he comes within a 100 yards of the subjects of the restraining order. Second, you can go into the civil courts and ask that he be found to be in contempt of court. Third, you can get affidavits of witnesses to the person being within 100 yards of the subjects of the restraining orders.

Good luck
