Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My father in law got accused of child molestation back in february. He was initially interviewed by the CPS investigator but has not been contacted by him or Law Enforcement since. He got a notice of child abuse central index listing indicating that the county has determined the allegations are sibstantiated. what should he do.

If he wants to try to avoid conviction and prison, hire an attorney. Unless you're competent to effectively represent yourself in court against a professional prosecutor trying to put you in jail, most people hire an attorney who can.
