Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

a felony?

i shoplifted twice in a year ten years ago. I took less than $150 each time . I was going through a rough year of divorce. Before that and since then I have never done anything close to that./ I am usually the most honest person around. Now that my son is older I am trying to get a real estate liscense and insurance agents license. all require you fill out the application and they ask if you have had a felony. my felony was nothing. It was even ten years ago/ Iwas told then it was expunged. Since then I applied for one or two jobs and got denied due to a felony. Ithought expunged meant It was off my record. that is what my attorney told me 10 years ago but it isnt obviously. what can I do? I am too good to always be declined better jobs due to one year in my life that was not how I usually am. i was divorcing and my mind was different only fo rhta one year. now I am fine and before that I was fine .

Re: a felony?

It sounds as if you must make a separate motion to expunge or have them reduced to misdemeanors. I do expungements at the Northridge Court and throughout the state. Call me directly at 1619223504.
