What is forgery?

if given permission to sign someone else's name on a document is it still considered forgery.

Forgery question

Signing someone else's name on a document when you have that person's permission to sign is not forgery. However, it is best to sign"John Jones by Joe Dokes" is he is John Jones and you are Joe Dokes.

What kind of document?

Agree w/counselor West, but would go further--permission given in the form of written POA by the consenting person would make me feel much more secure.
