Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I found a gold ring infront of my door my cat had it in his mouth. I waited for a couple of days and i decided to sell it to a local pawnshop. I got a 100$ for it. A month after my friend comes over and says her ring is missind and that she will follow a police report and go to the local pawnshop with it. She blames her boyfriend. What consequences will bring for me if she finds out it was me and can she find out? Thank you.

Fess up and give her the pawn ticket and $100. It's the right thing to do, the police will find the pawnbroker's log book, and nobody's going to believe the cat-ate-the ring story, not unless you pay her first.
If you had said it was a trout, I may have believed that story. I agree with Mr. Stone.
I hope you come up with a better, more believable story than that for the DA. A jury probably won't believe that story any more than the victim did. Give her the pawn ticket and money before she files criminal charges.
