Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

A girl I barely knew accused me of "burglary". I was not aware of this until an attorney went into court to pull awarrant on a Vehicle code violation. "(I was at social services the morning of the hearing" anyway he comes back to tell me of this new case the DA filed against me.

I received no notice of the complaint or anything, in fact I found out the DA had a bench warrant issued for my arrest, had I appeared for the traffic violation, I would have been arrested.

I have two witness statements stating I was with them the day of the accusation. I have not been booked or been to jail, I am trying to protect myself and find out what is going on

What can I do???

Get a lawyer. Why aren't you talking to the lawyer who was assisting you with the warrant on the Vehicle Code violation?

What can you do? Defend the criminal charges, just like every other defendant has to do. Go to court, enter your not guilty plea if appropriate, set up and attend your court hearing[s] and trial date, file your motions as applicable, go to trial if you can't resolve it with a plea bargain. There is no magic wand to wave and make it all disappear. If you don't know how to do these things, then hire an attorney that does. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
