Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Grand Larceny

I was arrested on a grand larceny warrant on 4/28/00. The arresting officer never read me my rights. This accusation is a lie, I broke up with my X-girlfriend, moved some of my things out of our appartment, including my Fire safe which contained a pearl necklace and diamond ring that belonged to her. When I arrived at my new house and opend my safe I saw the items, I called her at once to let her know that I had the two items, she would not talk to me , she kept hanging up on me, so I kept the two items, and have been waiting to hear from her, now this happens! I have been assigened a Public defender, but I am seeking more advice or The services of an Attorney...Help!!!

Re: Grand Larceny

It sounds as if you have a valid defense. The fact that you weren't read your rights would only matter if you then advised the officer of something that they are now using against you. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.

We do handle these types of cases. If you would like to talk you can call or email.

Sincerely,
