If you cannot afford an attorney, the court is obligated to provide one to you. It sounds like you've already said enough to the police. Clearly, you're not able to talk your way out of this one.

You need to either find the money and get an attorney or wait until you're arrested and put in jail, then taken to court and face formal charges. Then, the court will appoint an attorney for you if you qualify.

First, you stop discussing your case with the police. Chances are that you're hurting your case far more than you're helping it.

Second, you get a public defender. That's what they're for.

Re: guilty until proven innocent!!

Based on what you have written, it appears that you have said too much to the police and may have hurt your case. Dependent upon whether you are in TX or CA, you should consult with a local criminal defense law firm to fully discuss and explore your options. If my criminal defense law firm can assist you with this or any other legal issue, please contact us at [email protected] to arrange for an initial consultation.
