Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

are you guys former prosecutors? I get that vibe from some answers given...a lot of sarcasm and judgmental remarks. I'm a corporate lawyer and have never practiced in a criminal realm, but after looking over some responses I would advise you give your potential clients more comfort and less a**hole when they are facing potential prison time.

I couldn't agree more! Thanks for putting it so directly. Hopefully, the offending parties will take your advice to heart.

I've never been a prosecutor and I consider the suggestion an insult. Of course, I've never been a corporate lawyer, either, and I probably spend more time in a courtroom in a year than you will in an entire career.

Defending people accused of serious crimes is a rough and tumble business. I believe that clients need and want straightforward advice, not hand holding.

Of course, if you're running up your corporate clients' bills by charging a thousand bucks an hour for "comfort" instead of realistic assessments of their legal situations, I can see how you might have a different perspective.
