I understant that the California Penal Code covers health care professionals found guilty of crimes? Where in the code does it discuss their loss of thier professional status and liscense?

Re: Healthcare Professional / Practitioners

Statutes which govern professional licensing -- including those about the consequences of criminal convictions -- are usually in the Business and Professions Code, not the Penal Code.

Re: Healthcare Professional / Practitioners

Go to www.leginfo.ca.gov .

Click on "California Law."

Check the boxes marked "Business and Professions Code" and/or "Health and Safety Code."

Enter search terms, for example [professional license conviction].

Press "enter". This will display the many, many types of professional and occupational licenses that exist in California and the many provisions that relate to what happens when a licensee is convicted of a crime.

You can view the table of contents for the Business and Professions Code, or the Health and Safety Code, by checking the box for that code and not entering any search terms.

Or, you can tell us exactly what kind of license you have, and exactly what crime you, or Your Friend, is charged with, and you will very likely get a more responsive answer here.

Various Health & Safety code sections apply, depending upon the profession. If you are the professional charged with a crime, you need sound legal advice and defense. OR if you are an employer of a professional that is charged, you need advice on your rules and regs. If so, feel free to contact me.
