Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

my husband was a driver involved in a accident. he was hit and both him and the other party fleed the accident. my husband had our young child 1 yrs old in the vehicle at the time. she was not injured thank the great one above... Altogether he was charged with CHILD CRUELTY. Can this charge be dropped lesser or completely?

Sure, it CAN, but is that likely after both the police and the prosecutor's office reviewed the available case facts and decided to file those charges? When he fled the scene, he gave the prosecutor grounds to believe there might be more to the accident causation than if your husband had stayed and explained his version. Hopefully, his testimony can help mitigate and minimize the severity of the facts the prosecutor acted upon.

Your attorney will certainly try to get that kind of outcome for you, but if I were your attorney, I would need to discuss the realistic expectations you should have based upon these facts, instead of wishful thinking or hollow promises you might be hearing.
